Do you know what these terms mean?

Episiotomy --- Pitocin --- Epidural --- Ruptured Membranes ---

Prophylactic eye treatment --- Electronic fetal monitoring --- Focal point ---

Apgar Scores --- Delivery positions

As a mom-to-be, you and your doctor have decisions to make about these and other procedures. Education is one of the best ways to make informed choices. Education about childbirth also reduces fear and increases your chances of having a positive birthing experience.

Trained Obstetrical nurses teach a wide range of childbirth related and preparation classes for all members of the family. Parents-to-be and new parents will find these classes valuable since hospital stays are now much shorter than in the past. And, Newport Hospital & Health Services offers these classes FREE of charge to all expecting parent whether you deliver here or at another hospital! Our staff cares about each mother and baby and works hard to get them off to a good start.

Sign up for this 4-week class as soon as you discover you are pregnant to learn what choices you and your doctor have to make. Topics covered include labor and delivery, medication, anesthesia, postpartum care, newborn care, breastfeeding and infant CPR.
Call 509-447-6398 and leave a message with your name and phone number and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
