MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Many staff members at Newport Hospital and Health Services contribute to projects that help make a difference in our place of work, our community, or our world as a whole. These projects vary widely-from Teddy Bear Clinics to landscaping projects to fundraising for disease research. Whatever the project, the tasks at hand are taken on wholeheartedly and with enthusiasm. This page is dedicated to all of the wonderful individuals-at NHHS and everywhere-that go the extra mile. You know who you are!
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: MARCH FOR MEALS
March For Meals is an annual national campaign to raise awareness of senior hunger and to encourage action on a local level. Meals on Wheels, a federal food assistance program provided locally by Rural Resources Community Action, can mean the difference between health and hunger for more than 120 vulnerable, home-bound seniors in the Tri- County area.
Inspired by some very involved employees, NHHS held a departmental challenge to raise money for this campaign. All participating departments picked a theme and gathered prizes. Tickets were sold for a chance to win. The "Kindle Basket" team won the Department Challenge and enjoyed a pizza party for all team members. A good time was had by all parties, a few lucky winners took home great prizes, and a check was presented to the Tri-County Meals on Wheels program for $1,189.00.
GREAT JOB EVERYONE!
