Dr. Kraus

The opportunity to return to my home town to practice medicine is a dream come true. Growing up in Pend Oreille County was a delightful experience and it was my hope to return to serve my community.

My education began locally, continuing with my undergraduate work in College Place, Washington. Being adventurous, I went overseas and obtained my medical degree at Saba University in the Netherlands. Thereafter, I completed three years of Family Practice Residency at the University of Wisconsin in Appleton. I returned to the Spokane area and spent a fellowship year at Sacred Heart and Deaconess Medical Centers, learning how to manage high risk obstetric patients. This was in preparation for obstetric emergencies and C-sections in a rural practice setting.

In my current practice at Family Medicine Newport, I am happy to see all types of patients. My primary medical interests are women’s health, preventative medicine, geriatrics and obstetrics. I also enjoy spending my free time hiking, going on mission trips and spending time with family and friends.
