Regular meetings Public Hospital District No. 1 Board of Hospital Commissioners are held on the fourth Thursday of the month (except holidays) beginning at 4 p.m. in the Sandifur Room at Newport Hospital with a pre-agenda meeting at 3:30 p.m in the cafeteria.
Board Officers Elected by Hospital District
The governing body of Public Hospital District No.1 of Pend Oreille County doing business as Newport Hospital and Health Services announced its officers for the 2011 Board of Hospital Commissioners, as elected by their peers.
Ray King, Don Monroe,
President Commissioner

Ray and his family are long time
Diamond Lake residents. Mr. King
has been the Newport City Administrator
for more than 10 years. King also served
30 years in Air Nat'l Guard. Ray is a
veteran of the First Gulf War and of Kosovo

Don was elected to the Board of Commissioners
in November, 2011. He has an extensive
background in health care, specifically, Radiology.

Lynnette Elswick, Thomas Garrett,
Commissioner Commissioner
|
Lynnette is an Usk resident who was
elected to the board in November 2009.
Ms. Elswick worked in the financial/accounting
field for 25 years. For more than eight years
she worked for the hospital district where she
served as Controller/District Treasurer.

Tom has been on the board 10 years.
He retired as Human Resources Manager
of the Ponderay Newsprint Mill in Usk in
October 2010 following 23 years of service.
He resides with his wife Cindy near Diamond
Lake, WA.

Lois Robertson,
Commissioner
|
Lois has been a resident of Pend Oreille County
for 25 years, the past 12 years as the Owner/
Operator of a medical massage therapy practice.
Lois was appointed to the hospital Board in June 2011
and was officially elected to the Board in November 2011
